There are now just two days to go until we march to stop the management takeover of ULU.
As you may be aware, the University of London is currently trying to shut down ULU and replace it with a management-run services centre. ULU has existed since 1921 and is currently the only union in London brining students together from across the city, with campaigns, representation, clubs, societies and services.
Now is the time to spread the word and make sure that you’re at the demo this Wednesday. Please also join the Facebook event.
We urge you to come along on November 13th (assemble outside ULU at 1pm) and show your opposition to the closure of ULU. Unelected managers should never be allowed to shut down our student union, robbing us of representation and democratic control over services, societies and sports.
There are also a number of other things that you can do to help the campaign:
1. Spread the word: share the demonstration and the event on social media, and tell your friends and classmates.
2. Sign and share the petition [available here]
3. Pick up leaflets from the ULU offices on Malet Street and hand them out. Email Michael.Chessum@ulu.lon.ac.uk for more info
4. Lobby your local MP to sign Early Day Motion 614 [available here]
See you there!
Michael Chessum, ULU President
