CHARLIE HEDGES (KISS FM)

Influencing a weekly audience of 5.6 million listeners as a co-presenter on the Sony Award-winning Kiss FM breakfast show, Charlie Hedges’ insatiable thirst for music impressively takes in every hour of the waking day, through morning, noon and night. Aside from the breakfast show, Charlie hosts a specialist house music show on Saturday nights and a Friday night show on Kiss FM’s sister station, Kiss Fresh.

Off-air, Charlie Hedges is better known as a world-class DJ, one who plays to thousands of discerning clubbers across the world at parties like Sundance Festival, alongside Carl Cox at Space and at Amsterdam’s Gashoulder – a set that was broadcast across the world to over 11.5 million listeners – and on home turf in the UK at iconic venues like Electric Brixton, the Ministry of Sound and Pacha, where she had a residency.

PANJABI MC

PMC took inspirations from people such as James Brown, KRS1, Dr Dre, Spike Lee and Bob Marley, which were his influences from the western world and from his own cultural background he was influenced by Kuldip Manak, Surinder Shinda and Chamkila who are some of Indians greatest legends.

There were very few Asian rappers at that time and it was PMC who took traditional Panjabi music and merged it with hip hop and R&B records. A new sound for Bhangra was born and the PMC brand had began to spread to countries all around the world. Visit Panjabi MC's webpage.

TAZER

The word ‘fresh’ gets fired around a lot these days, but producer and DJ Tazer is one hundred percent fresh to death and well and truly in the house. You’ll know him as the mastermind behind Wet Dollars, the dance floor demander that recently got an additional upgrade, courtesy of a top-line from up and coming US R&B vocalist Tink.

In a time when producers are often bigger names than the artists they’re collaborating with – welcome to the age of Calvin Harris et al – Tazer is a self-schooled super producer in the making.

It’s no surprise that Tazer’s hip-hop infused electronic house has been adopted into the Black Butter Records family; having recently signed to the finger-on-the-pulse label behind first releases by the likes of Rudimental and Clean Bandit. Visit Tazer's webpage.
