Our central London gym facilities include a 60-station gym, 33m swimming pool, 50 fitness classes per week, sports treatments, sports hall and multi-purpose fitness studio.

 

Student Gym

With over 60 exercise stations, we have a wide range of equipment to cater for all members, whatever your goals or requirements.

Our equipment includes:

  • Precor cardiovascular machines - to help improve the function of your heart, lungs and overall fitness
  • Resistance machines - to increase muscular strength & stamina
  • Free weights - to increase muscular strength & stamina
  • Fit balls - to improve posture and core stability

Cardio Theatre -

Four 44 inch flat screen TV's show various channels throughout the day, including music, news & sport. Cardiovascular machines are fitted with receivers for earphone connection, giving eight channels (four TV & four music) to choose from.

Inductions -

Inductions are included as part of the membership package. Our Qualified fitness instructors can show you how to use the equipment correctly and offer advice on training. Inductions may be booked at Energybase reception.

Training Programs -

Our fitness instructors are able to devise a programme specific to your training needs and goals. This will help you get the best out of your workout. Plus, you can book for a re-test anytime you like. Book your programme at Energybase reception.

Swimming Pool

Our pool is the largest in central London, measuring 33.3m x 11.5m and has a maximum depth of 3.40m.

The pool was built in 1952 and still has the Royal Box (located on the ground floor by Lunchbox Café) which Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother would use when watching the many swimming galas run here. The Beatles, yes those legends of pop, even used our pool for a photo shoot!

The pool is always divided into four lanes set at different speeds. We have floats and pull buoys available, just ask one of our RLSS qualified lifeguards for assistance and they'll point you in the right direction.


Swimming Pool Hygiene

Our pool water is of very good quality and is regularly assessed by an external company.
To enable us to maintain the water quality we ask that our bathers follow some basic rules:

  • Always shower before entering the pool - it has been proven that just rinsing under a shower removes body sweat, deodorants and many other pollutants to significantly improve the water quality.
  • Tie long hair back or use a swimming cap to prevent loose hair getting in the pool.
  • Wear proper swimming attire - everyday clothes bring pollutants into the pool and can absorb water causing it to become heavy.

Sports Hall Hire

Our sports hall is 20 metres long, and very popular for basketball, badminton and indoor football. Visit our Energybase Bookings & Hire page for more information about studio hire.

Energybase does not provide any balls, shuttle cocks, or rackets therefore please bring your own equipment. Prices vary according to Energybase membership status, student eligibility and the activity performed.

The hall is only suitable for 4-a-side football, a total of 12 players is the maximum allowed. Tournaments cannot be organised without the permission of Energybase management.

There is a four person maximum for a badminton booking. Tournaments cannot be organised without the permission of Energybase management.

Fitness Studio

Our fitness studio is where the majority of our classes take place, from Aerobiking to Zumba.

The room has a range of equipment available including spin bikes, dumbbells, yoga mats and exercise balls. See our class timetable here.

 

Bookings & Hire

Our swimming pool, sports hall and multipurpose fitness studio are available for hire and can be used for a wide range of activities. We offer one off sessions for badminton, Studio Base 1 and Studio Base 2 as well as block bookings (10 sessions) for Studio Base 1, Studio Base 2 and Swimming Pool (please note that Swimming Pool cannot be booked for a single session only).

We provide a range of sports treatments including Physiotheraphy and Homeopathy. All visitors must first check in at Energybase reception. Practitioners may charge the full cost of a booking if a cancellation is made without 24 hours notice.
