Thousands of years ago there was a highly advanced civilisation on Earth. It was a time of mighty warriors, celestial weaponry and technology, mystical powers, love, devotion and wisdom. In the midst of this worldly prosperity and advancement, a royal dynastic struggle occurred. The mischief of malicious monarchs ignited a season of political intrigue, betrayal and valour, culminating in the greatest battle the world has ever seen – the battle of Kurukshetra. Two sides of the same dynasty fought for the throne – the rightful successors and the usurpers.
Right at this moment, on the verge of a battle that held the fortunes of the world in balance, with the eyes of nations fixed on Kurukshetra, Krishna unveiled to prince Arjuna the most confidential and sublime knowledge that would help him to win over the enemy. This knowledge was so powerful that it held the potency to save the world over and over again. This extraordinary revelation would later be revered by billions of people throughout millennia as the Bhagavad-Gita we know of today. Realizing the special value of this narration, the original text has been preserved in its authentic form even to this very day.
Bhagavad-Gita is God personally speaking not only to the great warrior Arjuna but to all of humanity, offering insight into powerful techniques to overcome global, social and personal struggles. It gives fundamental understanding of who we are and the purpose of human life and society. It teaches about our real identity, nature, time, karma and timeless arts of transcendence known as yoga, particularly emphasising the exquisite process of bhakti-yoga.
