FREE ENTRY! This Wednesday, 6.00pm!

Coffee House Sessions is a music platform, launched in September 2013 with Huw Stephens from Radio 1, allowing you to see the very best breaking acts performing live for free in intimate venues. Here at Student Central (formerly ULU) you will be able to see the next big thing, all from the comfort of The Library Bar.

Each week a new act will perform fantastic music – all you have to do is turn up!

This week we are joined by Samantha Durnan! The North East singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has already supported the likes of Ed Sheeran, The Hoosiers and Beverley Knight, and has her sites set on an amazing 2015.

Samantha’s talent proves that if you’re born with it and work hard to craft it, you’ll make it. Writing music from a young age, her influences come from the new and classic alternative rock sounds of Stevie Nicks, KT Tunstall and Michelle Branch, meaning she’s not only makes great music but she understands credible artistry.

Releasing her debut single “Who Would Have Thought” in November 2014, Samantha has already received tributes and airplay from Radio 1′s Jen and Ally. Bob Fischer from BBC Tees Introducing was also blown away by her talent: “As soon as I heard the songs from Samantha’s EP, I was knocked out – very powerful and emotional stuff, and she’s got a fabulous voice.”
